Typical Cost Ranges
Door Dings (1–5)
Small car park dings and shopping trolley dents. Most repaired within 1–2 hours mobile.
$80 – $300
Light Hail Damage
Small dents across bonnet/roof only. Under 10 dents per panel, no deep impacts.
$800 – $2,000
Moderate Hail
Multiple panels affected, mix of small and medium dents. Most common hail event category.
$2,000 – $4,000
Severe Hail
Heavy all-panel damage, deep dents, possible parts damage (windscreen, mirrors, mouldings).
$4,000 – $8,000+
What Affects the Price?
Number of Dents
Each dent is assessed individually. More dents = higher cost, but bulk rates apply for hail events.
Dent Size & Depth
Larger and deeper dents take longer to repair and cost more. Sharp crease dents are harder than round hail dents.
Vehicle Type
Panel accessibility varies by vehicle. Luxury cars and some Asian-market vehicles with thinner gauge metal may cost more.
Paint Condition
If paint is cracked or scratched, conventional panel repair may be required — PDR cannot fix paint damage.
